Innominati ensemble

"Innominati Ensemble" is a vocal group founded in Rome in November 2024, bringing together five singers: Sofia Celenza (soprano), Marta Pacifici (mezzo-soprano), Marco Ciardo (tenor), Andrea Martucci (tenor), and Alessio Neri (bass).

From its inception, the ensemble has pursued an eclectic artistic path, presenting programmes that span from Renaissance polyphony to contemporary music. In its first concerts, held in Rome, the group performed works by Claudio Monteverdi, William Byrd, Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, Thomas Tallis, John Tavener, and two contemporary composers from Rome. This stylistic breadth reflects the ensemble’s open identity and its constant search for connections between different eras and musical languages.

The members of the ensemble combine extensive choral experience — gained in renowned formations such as the Cappella Liberiana of Santa Maria Maggiore, the Choir of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, and the London Philharmonic Choir — with vibrant individual careers as soloists in the operatic, chamber, and concert repertoires. Some perform regularly in leading roles at major festivals and theatres across Italy and Europe, in productions ranging from opera to early music. Several have also distinguished themselves in national and international competitions, receiving prizes and accolades, and have refined their artistry at prestigious institutions including the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and the Accademia Chigiana in Siena.

The ensemble brings together a wide range of complementary skills — from composition and arrangement to organ performance and musicological research — as well as specialised training in Baroque singing, which enriches its stylistic depth and interpretative awareness.

The personal bond uniting the members lies at the heart of the group’s identity: every artistic choice arises through dialogue, and the joy of making music together remains its guiding principle. The repertoire unfolds freely between sacred and secular, ancient and modern, embracing a continuous conversation between tradition and innovation.
